Exterior Christmas Decorations

This Christmas more than ever, we all deserve some festive cheer. And what better way to spread some seasonal happiness than by adding some sparkle to the outside of your home.

We’re all facing an uncertain Christmas period, unsure if we will be able to spend time with our family and friends. So, if you are looking for ways to brighten up these dark winter days, here’s Purple Wellies top tips for bringing a festive feel to your property!

Turn your garden into a grotto

We may not be able welcome visitors into our home right now, but as restrictions ease it may be possible to have guests in your garden.  Don’t let the cold weather and coronavirus defeat your plans – turn your garden into a grotto and enjoy some socially-distance seasonal cheer.

Simply place your garden furniture on the patio, add piles of fleecy blankets and light a firepit to roast chestnuts on—and you are ready to make merry.  String the garden with outdoor fairy lights and serve mulled wine to add even more Christmas spirit!

Ring the changes with a door wreath

Create a showstopping entrance to your home by hanging a wreath of greenery, berries and pinecones to your front door—after all, we all like to make a good first impression.

Evergreen leaves add class and style to a traditional home, but modern exteriors are best suited to frosty white twigs weaved with fairy lights and organza ribbons for a contemporary feel.

Light the way

If you have a driveway or path leading up to your front door, create a stunning outdoor Christmas scene with twinkling LED candles in jam-jars or tealight holders lining the way to your home. It’s a budget-friendly way to make a frosty driveway more welcoming for visitors.

Festoon your home with fairy-lights

Whether you choose to opt for a stylish smattering of white fairy lights on a single tree—or go all-out and challenge your neighbours to a full-on Christmas lights battle, the sight of a sparkling home exterior spreads a little happiness to all that see it.

If you don’t have a tree in your garden from which to hang lights, buy a potted bay leaf plant which can be decorated with dainty lights and placed next to your front door.

If you have a head for heights, consider hanging a pretty string of icicle lights from the eaves of the house. Or if you don’t fancy climbing a ladder, add a laser projector at ground level to cast snowflake patterns across the front wall of your home.

Get a professional home exterior clean this Christmas

Your Christmas decorations will look much more spectacular against the backdrop of a clean home. So, if you are serious about spreading the Christmas cheer, it’s time to get in touch with the people in Purple Wellies.

We can sprinkle some magic (or our eco-friendly moss-inhibiting solution) over your resin or stamped concrete driveway, make your patio sparkle – and even perform a softwash bio roof clean so Santa won’t slip when he crosses the roof to come down your chimney!
